walking in the door
weary from life
and my kid says
hey mom what’s up
how was your day
same as always work
and smile
what about yours
o ok
and I say
uhoh pause there what’s up
you can say it if you want to
you can not if you don’t
well its just that I had a
biff
with my health teacher
a biff says I
what kind of biff
well we were doing CPR on a dummy
and we didn’t have the mouth piece
so
he told us to just blow off to the side
like on his cheek
and this one kid, shy guy nice
did just that
and the teacher just jumped him
said what are you doing I didn’t say to do that
and
mom I swear he did Exactly what the teacher had said
and
I really felt sorry for this kid he was all red
and embarrassed
so I just said
you
did
not
he did just what you said to
and then the teacher called me out
but everyone in class backed me up
and it didn’t go anywhere I didn’t get detention
or anything
and I thought for a second
and I said this
two things I have two things to say about that
one) in the classroom the teacher is god
just like in the work world your boss is god
get used to it
two) I’m proud of what you did
standing up for what you perceive as an
injustice is an awesome thing that very few could do
you will never ever be in trouble in my book
for
standing up for what you believe in
ever
each situation is different and you have
to
learn when to keep your mouth shut and when not
but let me tell you kid
if I had a tenth
of Your spunk
they might be calling me
