pummeling of heart

so
the battle rages
and
it is a battle
fierce
I am amazed really
to find myself in this arena
when
it is no fault of mine
when
few if any see
and yet day in and day out
I
don the gloves
and prepare
mentally
physically
for the task at hand
the battle
but going in
I know
beyond a shadow of a doubt
that justice prevails
that no matter what
I will walk away proud
complete
at peace
for stepping out in faith
for believing the truth that
the conviction in my soul rings clear
ahh
the bell
the stare down
the patting of opposing gloves
the stance
the
blows
the pummeling of hearts

Life is filled with battles, both mental and physical. When you come away with your heart filled and in peace, you know you've won. Despite what others may think.

Josie, I have always loved your poetry. Do you know why? It is because you have the wonderful ability to comment and make your self understood. Most can't seem to do that when they write. You come straight at your reader without any zigs or zags. This is excellent. Bill Murray
