Your words
flung into time
can
come back to haunt you
can
bring grief
especially when thrown out in haste
especially when
hurled in anger
Your words
cannot be called back
cannot be erased
can
echo in someone’s heart
forever
yes there is forgiveness
we can forgive and accept
an
I didn’t mean to
easy enough to say
I understand and yeah I forgive you
harder to stop the sound of the words
bouncing around your heart
that cut to the quick
that maligned your character
that unjustly bruised
seems words never disappear
they ring on in hearts
sticks and stones
may break bones
but
words
ahh
words will linger on

Josie.. I know the truth when I read/see/hear it.. this is the real stuff! What really annoys me is when someone says their piece followed immediately by 'just kidding'.. HA! <--- as you have been known to say! (smile) Words pack a punch.. no two ways about it.. great piece here. It's lovely to read you.. katy xox.
Inspirational poetry, written from the heart and soul. Verses that are well-suited for reading on a rainy day and that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
