His Triumphant Entry
And so from
The Mount of Olives
We walk down
The very path used by Jesus
On His triumphant entry
Into the City of Old Jerusalem
Riding on a colt, the foal of an ass!
I imagine the multitude that went before our Lord
Spreading their garments in the way;
And saying: “Blessed is He that cometh
In the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!”
I struggle no longer, but let a few tear drops escape!
Before us looms the walled City of Old Jerusalem
The Golden Gate through which Jesus would have entered
To gain access to the Temple, stands sealed now!
I recall how He cast out all them that sold and bought;
He even overthrew the tables of the moneychangers!
Suddenly, I am living the Bible;
As Scripture after Scripture flood my mind!
Jesus, the Messiah was here; no denying!
And I am retracing His steps to
The Holy City!
“It is written, My House shall be called the House of Prayer;
But ye have made it a den of thieves!”
[Matthew 21:13]
