Poetry burns like a flame in the night
Guiding the reader with its flickering light
Gathering together the mists of their souls
To feed their emotions as each line unfolds
Painting such pictures with each passing line
The body at times, plays tricks with the mind
Passion and pleasure wash over this plane
When the portrait of lovers a poem does explain
Memories of those they hold in their dreams
Come to life vividly through poetry’s seams
Blister the imagination with each pulsing rhyme
Leading each reader to a more sensuous time
Lines set to rhythm lend wings to us all
Close your eyes tightly...are you hearing its call?
Let the words wash over you as they sweep you away
To a world of imagination where fantasies play
Or a time long forgotten in this harsh, darkened world
Where beauty and magic together come unfurled
Be ye mystic or romantic, it matters not here
Whatever your calling, you’ve nothing to fear
Where one ends and another begins is anyone’s guess
But there’s passions within and words that will bless.
Come join the adventure and see where it leads
While into your minds we plant tiny seeds.
