A child races twig boats on the river,
carefully pushing them out from the bank,
so that they catch the current.
A young man spies on the make believe,
envious of imagination that transports
a child on journeys of fantasy
A rich man tries to capture the dream
with a camera, to make it an object, trap
the dream within an adults prison
An old man sits by the river, mocks
the youth who is now envying what he
so carelessly threw away.
The old man laughs at the fool
trying with a camera to capture
the shadows of dreams
He knows dreams stay when
we leave. They are always there;
it takes a lifetime to reclaim them.

A wonderful, timely, reminder to remember where we put our Pooh Sticks before they get swept up in the organic rubbish piles of our lives!
