The Spider makes her web
with indestructible patience.
While I watch her
The web of my life hangs in shreds
All the gossamer threads of plans
And dreams are torn by
The slightest wind
Of unexpected events.

A rage of frustration rises
in me as I sit among
the simplicity of nature.
The cycle of the seasons
is too simple for my human logic,
everything is and is not
and recurrs to infinity while 
I seek beginnings and endings.

As the quest for answers consumes
human effort and yields no result, only revealing more questions
the Spider makes her web
with indestructible patience.
No time in her world, no deadlines,
only infinity which she works towards,
never getting nearer, never further away
until I, an angry giant who holds
the power to create Gods in my own image
but cannot tie the strands of my schemes together,
determine not to let it be.

With one sweep of my hand
I destroy it all, her we, her world,
but as I walk away rejoicing
in my victory over feeble nature
the spider returns to make her web
with indestructible patience.
