Another day in lockdown dawns,

dull and drab and dingy.

This house arrest has proved a teast

for the fortitude within me.

Each day another struggle

as we wrestle with the boredom,

seeking new inspirations

in the hope as we adore them,

they will give us the resiience

and rekindle the brilliance

to illuminate the dour days ahead.

Days repeating endlessly

weigh on the soul tremendously

as, stalked by some formless pestilence,

against which we have no defence,

we are told to mask our faces

and any other traces. to avoid the places

friendship and laughter graces.

The challenge to our sanity

has stifled creativity

and constrained the proclivity

to record passing events,

stretching from spring season

to beyond the winter searason,

beyond logic or reason

beyond justification

beyond common sense ...
