REM embering

And yet again as I awake
Another dream is lingering.
Though I live my days without you,
At night my soul is dancing.

Entertwined & entangled
forever with yours.
Subconsciously connected.
For reasons I cannot comprehend,
you still pervade my thoughts.

I wonder if you're aware?

Despite your adamant resignation
and conscious refusal to surrender,
at night while you are sleeping,
your soul escapes you
and comes to love with mine.
