The coldest winds blew
It was as if they knew
And even with a clear blue sky
My heart just sighed .

As I beseech the slightest clue
I queried if your love was true
Yet saw that you refused to try
To evoke a twinkle in my eye.

My heart had hoped to hear from you
My mind told me it wasn't true
The silent words, that made us cry
All because I asked you why .

As you decided what to do
Concluded all our days, too few
And though it hurt, you went
We knew just what that meant .

When Tuesday came we went to tea
For you had come to get your key
We tried to talk, the air was thick
We built up distance brick by brick.

And then ~ you were gone!
