What hold is this
you bind me to?
For it is never
as you say or do.

Of all the lovers
I have known,
the pain is deepest
in things you've shown.

You come and go
at whim and will,
as my own desires
are left unfulfilled.

The games we play
are stale and old.
So I guess it is time
that I grow bold.

And create for me
a different path.
Follow light and love
and dismiss your wrath.

The misery
can't be undone.
Yet I have songs to sing
that are still unsung.

With you, my voice is
never heard.
And you're a man
who can't keep his word.

In your selfish quest
to win your ways,
you draw me
into powerplays.

Of hurt and guise
which leave me blind,
to my inner heart
and my logical mind.

It is very sad that there are people like this but I know a few as well. I don't know if they realize the pain that they inflict but I hope they don't otherwise, they're just plain mean. Well-expressed, Sudo Nym. Love and best wishes,

Regis
