Sight
I close my eyes
In the peaceful night,
Seeking slumber,
And instead I see
Swirling shapes,
Prancing patterns,
And dancing designs
Haunting my sleep.
I awaken at daybreak
To see obscurity…
Opaqueness…
Mystifying mists
Stealing that which
I’ve always cherished.
Whether I can handle
What God has given me,
Only time and chance
Will reveal,
But if I must live
Without my sight,
I will learn to see
By using my vision to
