a few times to steal magic
while her back was turned
and spent all my riches
feeding a foul-mouthed serenade
to the tune of regret
hanging on a tripwire
across the foreshadow of my walk.
And I’ve seen my reflection
in the tears of an angel
sitting cross-legged
on a cloud of endless panic
in the sky of my destiny.
But under the
constant amber ray of light
shone out the window
of your tender mind
I drink from the fountain
of promises
watering wilted flowers
planted along the edge
