I celebrate Birthday number sixty-two today.

When you consider this I have much to be grateful for.

I have lived those 62 years.

That breaks down to 744 months…

3,224 weeks…

22,630 days…

543,120 hours…

23,583,200 minutes…

Who says life is short?

Poem Artwork

Each year that has passed has brought both good and sad.

The good times as I look back outweigh the bad.

The joy of living is the secret of living for joy.

I have a wonderful wife, two girls and a boy.

Only now they are now full grown with children of their own.

I find my life has not become empty; I am not left alone.

I am called by my name or by ‘Dad’ or ‘Papa’ it all depends.

I find that the joy of living simply never ends.

So I begin year number sixty-three.

Whatever it brings, I know God loves me.

Happy Birthday, Lew. I write a poem in honor of my age every late October or early November, each year, as a tribute to myself. I see no reason why we, as writers, cannot honor ourselves, every now and then! This is a very nice reflection of your life and a poem offering hope, too.

I hope you've had a wonderful birthday and best wishes for the year ahead! May your 63rd year be your best one, yet!

Jill

The happiest of birthdays!
Ok, who figured out the time statistics?
I like how you choose to "begin year sixty-three. Whatever it brings, I know God loves me." You bring a smile to my lips with your expressiveness and love.
