*Why do we worship this son of God?* *Could it be it is because he is God incarnate?* *But if God incarnate is who he be?* *Then why did we hang him on a tree?* *Could it be that we were so deeply engrossed in sin?* *That we knew him not and would not welcome him in?* *Could it be that we could not bring ourselves to admit* *That we believe in this man who was so pure in spirit?* *He who was born as a child who lay in a manger and grew?* *Into the deity who could judgmental of me and you?* *How is it that we cried out for his end?* *This man who for our salvation God did send?* *We hung Jesus on that cross yet he died for our absolution* *For Jesus was in fact God with us to show to us his infinite compassion* *Praise Christ Jesus the son, praise God the father* *Amen*

Very nice poem. But I have often wondered why we say that Jesus died "for us" when he died BECAUSE of us - because of humanity's heartless cruelty. I feel that He lived FOR US - to teach the Love we lack. . .and I wish we'd learned deeper levels of it. We need more Love in our troubled world.
