“Heaven and Hell”
Alas, but though heaven I wander!
The wind and water like silk on my skin,
A secure warmth kindled from within.
Curse! That noise that tears my dreams asunder!
The abominable alarm clock is blaring,
I throw back the warm sheet and reveal my tired being.
And now I leave you, I go to another day in Hell.

“Biblioholic”
Narnia, Middle Earth, Hogwarts, & Pern;
The lands of fantasy lore were born.
Crichton, Hamilton, Wilson, & Rice;
The masters of modern fiction and strife.
Homer, Shakespeare, Shelley, & Poe;
The artisans of love and history and woe.
Davis, Herbert, Sergeant, and Hebb?
What authors will emerge in the days ahead?

“Beautiful Snow”
The snow is drifting, daintily down
And dancing about in my headlights shown
What beautiful snow is swirling down
Look at it softing and swaying around
I think to myself, “Wow, this is great!”
As my car slides, and I slam into a tailgate…

“Dear God Help Me!”
Dear God help me, I’ve been rhyming again!
Those poetic juices, words from the din!
Words thoughts and phrases, surging within!
Oh for crying out loud, here I go again!
