“My Power”
Why does everything I touch turn to dust?
I believe it is my power.
Why do all my friends turn to hate me?
I believe it is my power.
Why do all I love never appreciate me?
I believe it is my power.
Why does everything I wish to cherish slip away?
I believe it is my power.
What is this awesome power I speak of?
I am a master of self-destruction.

“Live”
I have created you in order for you to live
Fear not, you shall return to me soon enough
I’m sorry I must force you into this harsh world
But how can you learn if you do not make mistakes
Do not fear wasting this life, you will have another chance
Do not live in fear of Hell, how could I let such a think exist?
I give to you free will, to do as you must to learn in this life
Don’t fear me, for all I give to you is love and support
Worry not of my approval, if you are about to do something awful
I will not let anything unnecessary happen
Anything that will not teach you and your peers
Be a lifelong learner, you will be whether you like it or not
You are an angel of mine, sent into flesh to learn the lessons I set for you
You are my pupil, I am your schoolmaster, and yes I run a hard institution
But you must live to learn the lessons I have to teach
You must make the errors, you must love the strangers, and you must commit the atrocities
You must do these things to learn, such a high being you are
You will be sent to animate flesh as a soul, but you will always be one of my angels
Believe in me, and that all this is necessary, and you will be in heaven all your life
But if you loose sight of me, then you will fall into “Hell”, and must find me again
But know always; do not believe what others command you to believe!
Believe what you know is true , in your heart, in your soul!
I will be here waiting for you when this class is dismissed
And your material form returns to the Earth
I send you now with the love, that only I can give
And a blessing in which you must believe
I will guide you when you ask, and nothing is unnecessary!
I am your father, your mother, your sibling, and your friend
To find me, just look around, I made everything and I exist in all
You will know when they speak of me, for they call me “God”
I have no gender
I have no judgment
I have only love
And I send you now to Live as a Human on Earth!
Go now my angel…

Some painful observations here, but there is also much wisdom in your words. Thank you for sharing of yourself.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!

Still Living on my Feet by Tichaona Chinyelu

Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
