Razor Sharp

Dull is last century,
sharp is in.
So sharpen your pencil,
and let us begin.

Throw out those rants,
about your long lost love.
Stop boring our senses,
with endless turtledove.

Get out your Thesarus,
and find some words.
The crap you've been writing,
makes well formed turds.

The sky is blue,
and so is the sea.
So what's new,
about these revelations,
since 1803?

I don't care how long,
he's been hurting you.
You need help to get away,
not our pity to continue.

And for you lotharios,
with one track minds.
The cell phone is more portable,
for texting ass finds.

So if you find me dull,
with my meter and rhyme.
I should say , "Go stick it,"
but instead, "Read my line."

Where the word is a razor,
and cuts a fine mime.
Sometimes the truth bleeds,
at an inconvenient time.

There must be meaning,
in my verse.
All else is just nonsense...
or worse.

..Sometimes the truth bleeds at an inconvenient time..." possibly one of the great lines of all poetic time! I like the critical tone in this case - there is too much bullshit in most of us poets while we struggle to be great or romantic (or even sell something!) "Some honest please" is good advice. One of your best (and the rhymes fit right in this one)

I enjoyed this inventive piece that captures sentiments I'm sure we have all felt at one time or another, even about our own work! LOL! Good job, Ronald.

what a great creative stanza......

how stong! Loved it!!!

now i do wonder who you are writing about, perhaps its a composite poet, or maybe even someone not on this site.......

I found this sharp and witty and actually quite compassionate...telling the lamentful poet to move on, mend that heart, dont dwell in agony.......

good advice sir!

Points well made, Ron. "In your face" and honest testimony. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

You Devil Ron, I can take the bluntness of your words but some here will be terribly hurt. Since no names are involved 'm thinking it could be I'm it could be me, maybe her...and him and that poet that only posts every other month.Since we are friends...you can always just write me a constructive citique without involving an audience. Oh well...perhaps not naming a specific poet, then your hopes will get us all a tune-up.
Love,
Susan
