Deep in the Rain Forest Canopy

Poem Artwork

Drops of Eden

Drops of Eden fell below.
Whether rain or tears,
They did not know.

High in the canopy,
that protects Mother Earth,
the leaves that nurtured them,
gave them birth.

The gradual warming,
transformed the sea.
Belched forth carbon dioxide,
that none could see.

The air grew heavy,
and full of doubt.
The unsuspected,
never figured it out.

Plants grew skyward,
looking for sun.
Through clouds and mist,
they struggled,
but found none.

Still, they grew,
spurred on by something,
they never knew.

The very gas that clouded the sky,
had given them this growth,
to seek the high.

As time passed,
a lush forest grew.
Ushered out the old,
ushered in the new.

Tiny creatures myriad as leaves,
evolved and flourished,
in the trees.

When the Sun finally broke through,
the leaves rejoiced and greener grew.

All of the creatures,
hid in the shade.
Fearing the brightness,
of the light's sharp blade.

And so the circle,
had turned full cast.
And the land of Eden,
had returned at last.

..and on this forthcoming "full circle" we will be long gone - yet it would be interesting to behold the future evolution of our survivable planet Earth and life's course. It has happened differently many eons before - Again, I can't always keep up with your flowing output BUT your poetry is superb and the stuff of genius! What a volume you will publish someday soon!

...and in the end, from a bare lifeless slate, the history of our world will be written again...what an interesting concept which certainly holds a much validity as any other I have heard and truly makes the most sense. Grains of pollen found in pyramids are still fertile, so long after mankind is gone, Eden just may rise again. Excellent and substantial offering, Ron.
Take care,
Sherry

My favorite pen of yours as of today. You write and in the background I hear echoes from the lowest creatures of the Rain Foerest to the howlers in the treetops. This is all a treausre to be adored and held very close.
Love and blessings,
Susan

Wow, what a turn about! Makes one wonder if this can happen...Rain forests are called the lungs of the earth and the way they are being destroyed will eventually help with our planets demise.
Splendid poem Ron!

Love,
ET
