a poem to a filly born the year after her brother, my "dream horse" was killed in a tragic accident.
Little baby sister
Into the world in the cold
I pulled you out and dried you with wool
Your curly, baby, equine coat
Not a speck of white
A peaceful girl
Hard to come here in brother’s place
Tough to make your way
Your peaceful ways – always good
A touch of mischief too
Quiet and beautiful girl
You eased into my heart
Took up your own bit of space
You just let it happen
Knowing that it would
Little angel baby
I love you

this piece is heartbreaking in the intro, yet absolutely beautiful,
