The mare is soft in my hands
And comfortable with me, her rider
She has no sense of fear
But strides with confidence and well being
There is magic in her liquid eyes
And glory in the intricacies of her shimmering muscles
That flow throughout the arch of her neck
And along the strength of her shoulder
The dancing step of every footfall
Mix with the song of freedom in my heart
As the wind combs my hair with her fingers,
The troubles of the day are shed and lost in our wake
