Well you are so on the money with this write. As an employee of Canadian gov't for 30 years when my heart when I was forced into early retirement at about a third of what I'd been making then because of their mistakes ended up about an extra 30,000 in the hole and it keeps getting deeper that hole.

Living on less than $240.00 a month, I know how living paycheck to paycheck is - and I'm a Veteran!! Any money that comes in - tax refund - an unexpected blessing - always a help. Excellent write of how it is for many of us.

Yeah, I agree it is nice to get the tax returns, but what would be better is if they'd quit taxing us so damn much in the first place . . .

A very appropriate and timely poem. Very understanding. Paycheck to paycheck life is not a picnic and the reliefs are as you say. You speak for so many.
