Unique

The leukemia has returned,

It's respite all too brief.

She called, we spoke of what she needed,

I told her I loved her, that she was unique in all the world.

I then rolled into that silly joke(the one about the unique rabbit.)

And for a very brief moment,

Time stood still,

There was no leukemia,

No impending doom.

In that instant, we were just two sisters,

Laughing so hard that tears rolled down our cheeks,

Tears that became the sobs,

Of two sisters torn apart by grief.

Oh Karen how touching and painful all at the same time. I lost a brother and know how much pain we all were in. My love and blessings to you and to let you know, someday you will be again in paradise with no pain or diseases. Love to you always. Bonnie

I understand the laughter and the tears, never knowing if this is the last day. Share the healing ointment of laughter often as you can. Even if you tire yourselves silly, laughing is a great way to fall asleep. If not laughter, the beauty you find in each other's very soul and being, is worthy in any conversation. May time stand still with no doom, and may you have the strength to withstand time. No guessing who's in my prayers tonight.

So sorry to hear this bad news but hopefully our prayers will be answered and it will go into remission permanently. Humor is in itself a healing medicine.
