Devil’s Advocate

I am compelled to play the devils advocate,

I will apologize in advance if offence is taken,

For none is in any way intended,

Just an attempt to lay open a stark and sad truth.

For my son who has said that his children are everything,

That his little girl is a gift from Heaven,

And Michael Jackson, who declared his children,

Meant everything to him, but they speak not the truth.

For in truth the need for the drugs of their addiction,

Took precedence over all else in life,

They were willing to sacrifice their children’s fathers,

Showing that indeed, the drugs meant more than even life.

My son, thus far is lucky, for the law stepped in,

And his family, too, and have put him on probation and re-hab.

So his children have a chance to know and love their dad.

And he has the responsibility and chance to back up his words.

But Mr. Jackson, such a gentle soul,

(As well as countless others each day)

Has selfishly taken any chance from his loved ones,

To ever fully know of his love.

The governments of the world should to go to war on drugs, on the barons, the dealers, and everyone connected with this vile trade.

There is absolutely no glamour to addiction of any kind.

Pity Elvis and Michael Jackson and others in the entertainment business who are unfortunate to have doctors who supply their every 'narcotic' need.

Your write has much wisdom and truth in it. Drugs sadly are an addiction . I often wonder why a person can't face life head on without the upers and downers and whatevers. Those that choose that way of life , really miss out on so much without ever realizing it. Many suffer for their mistakes ....M

I DON'T KNOW WHAT MICHAEL DIED OF BUT I'VE NEVER BEEN A DRUG ADDICT, THOUGH I HAVE HAD SOME OTHER ADDICTIONS. HOWEVER I HAVE SEEN FAMILIES TORN APART, CHILDREN NEGLECTED AND KILLINGS BECAUSE OF ONES ADDICTION TO DRUGS...AND I'VE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THIS MUST BE A POWERFUL THING WHICH RUNS THROUGH THE VEINS OF ONE THAT SEES DEATH AHEAD BUT STILL GOES TOWARDS IT...HATING THE VERY IDEA OF IT. IT SEEMS IT'S NOT AS EASY AS WE THINK IT IS AND UNTIL WE STAND IN THE SHOES OF AN ADDICT WE SHOULD TRY TO REFRAIN FROM JUDGING. MAY GOD GIVE YOUR SON THE STRENGTH TO BEAT HIS ADDICTION BUT PLEASE...IF HE SHOULD FAIL, DON'T TURN YOUR BACK ON HIM. DO FOR HIM WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE FOR US...ENCOURAGE HIM TO TRY AGAIN...BECAUSE DRUG ADDICTION IS NOT AN EASY THING TO TURN AWAY FROM. THANKS FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS YOU. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

How can one explain a decent, God loving mother and a father that their child is a monster? that drugs come first to anything to their child? that even self-preservation is down the list? Yes, it doesn't make sense!

Here's a man who never knew
Family like me and you
Such a great talent
Cursed by his demons
Robbed by his friends
Right to the end
The whole greedy bunch
All who colluded
For the free lunch
The will now excluded
His children are the losers
Although they do win
If collecting death's lottery
Forgives Michael's sin

No offense taken. Patrick

Just more reason not to revere the so-called "man". Me, personally, doesn't mind if people take offense. I've had enough of thin skinned attitudes and political correctedness. The truth is truth. If one cannot take it, then one isn't worthy of the truth. Stomp away, Karen. ~ Sara

Makes you wonder if people ever really think what they're doing, what they're getting into when they go on that first binge to get high on drugs. Or do they think at all. But you are so right, when a parent abuses their bodies with ANYTHING at all, they are depriving their children of a mentally sound parent.

Your feelings in this matter are well articulated.
I don't know about being the Devils Advocate, what I
hear here is someones heart groaning because there's
so much, on this freaking planet, that makes no sense.
