The Clip-Clop of her Hooves

It’s interesting sometimes,

When a simple act becomes profound,

And causes an emotional response.

Driving our pony for the first time today,

Was just that type of event,

In the cool beauty of the autumn morn’,

And in the clip-clop of her hooves,

As she jogged along our country road.

The peace and tranquility swept over me,

The slow pace reminiscent of the past,

History’s past as well as my own.

I love those defining moments in life when the beauty that surrounds us hits me full in the face and it is next to impossible to deny that there is a loving Father in Heaven who loves us and created all of this for us...

You really recalled memories long dormant with this one. That sound I recall from over forty five years ago on my Uncles Farm still resides in a city boy, wanna be country boys mind and when I bring it up it is with a smile and a warm sense of serenity.
Thank you Karen
