Who would have ever guessed tragedy was around the corner...
Gusts flow across the campus at Virginia Tech,
snow flurries skip like children in distress.
An eerie hopelessness roams the classrooms and dorms,
a crazed man enters rooms like an atrocious storm,
courageous and innocent students sense this is not norm.
Their lives...in the palm of a demented kind,
doubts fill their souls and strain their minds,
unsure of the acts of this one-of-a-kind.
What's happened...has he totally lost his mind?
A professor struggles to hold the wild one back,
while students run, jump out windows, and make tracks.
He lost his life on this illogical day,
helping as many as he could to get away.
He's a survivor of the holocaust of long ago,
a brave man who chose to give up his soul.
Students also stood heroic...blocking doors,
puts their lives in danger as they lay on the floors.
Our hearts go out to each of these valiant souls,
who protected students trying to keep Virginia Tech whole.
These warriors will forever walk these awesome halls,
because this institution will stand firm and tall.
We grieve for all of you who were took this day,
your names are forever engraved in our bodies of clay.
You're archangels...loaned to God for just a spell,
one day we'll meet you in His garden by the well.
Compassionate, loving tribute to those lost on that terrible day. Well done, Barbara.

I've seen a great many news casts about the Virginia Tech tragedy, but none were more elegantly stated than in "Illogical Acts On The Innocent". That's a classic, my friend.
The story of the professor who survived the Holocaust, only to die at Va. Tech was one of the most touching and most tragic of all the stories. So many lives were lost and with them, so much potential for greatness. May God's Grace continue to be with the families of the fallen as well as our thoughts and prayers.

Another great tribute to those who lost their lives at the hand of a psychopath. We have heard far to much about the killer and not nearly enough of those who lost their lives and their loved ones who are left to grive.
