Minutes, hours, days, weeks, years, slip by and we wonder where they went...
Where did the time go my love?
Once we were young and brave,
taking risks and struggling every step of the way.
Full of energy and anxious to work,
never time to play or fish in brooks.
Where did the time go my love?
Our babies grew into adults,
grandchildren learned to read and to consult.
Our house overflowed on Christmas Eve's,
a lot of hungry mouths we would feed.
Where did the time go my love?
Never time to tease you with kisses and hugs,
did we ever drink hot toddies out of our mugs?
I watched as time pulled us away,
promised we make it up another day.
Now the years have come and gone,
here we sit ripened and alone,
no energy left to romance at night,
as we shuffle through the house looking a sight,
Where did the time go my love?
"no energy left to romance at night,
as we shuffle through the house looking a sight" Loved it and the entirity of the poem. Oh yes always time for romance no matter how someone looks...surely there are many a (wonderful gift to don~smile)
Sensuality has no age limit you know~have fun with, write love poems in the sand...sprinkle rose petal throughout the house. Go ahead and sip those toddies, or even try some sake...that will do the trick. Next before you notice...all will be speaking in tongues of love.
Smile spiritual hugs and love+ you are a very beautiful woman inside and out!
All the best my friend~Gwendolyn
Time has a way of flowing like the wind; one can almost feel it going by. Fortunately, we do have eternity and time on this planet is only temporary. Thank you for stirring my thoughts, Barbara. Love and peace,
What a poignantly bitter-sweet write dear Barbara. I can so relate. I remember in my twenties; I thought I was going to live forever. Now in my fifties, well ...
Blessings dear sister ...

An excellent write Barbara,
Time is still here it never changed
The change is within us
As we are burdened with age
we need more time to accomplish
our once upon a time easy task
You know, I have been asking myself that very question alot lately. Been in a funk of sorts I guess. Its funny you would write this because I have been wondering why I wasted it all. Well. here's to another 30 years, hopefully, this time full to overflowing! Great write!
A great question where did time go ? time sure slips away
So we must remember to enjoyed life
it seems to me that once you hit 21 the time goes faster
the years roll in so fast
A great message take time to love and enjoyed
And appreciate life
Outstanding write love the flow and chosen words!
Love And Peace to you always...Morning Star
Indeed, where does the time go? It seems the older we get the faster time speeds by. However, the beauty of passing time is that each new day brings a new beginning. The things we've lost and mourn for in the past can have a rebirth---perhaps not just as we would have done things back then---but choosing happiness, in and of itself, can be a priority we all want and deserve.
Time never stops, just marches through eternity. We must make time to enjoy all the little things in life before time passes and leaves us behind........
You ask the question we all do,and it is always that way with every generation. Yet we never seem to learn how fleet it is until it catches up with us.When young we think we have forever...Excellent prose Barbara!
A question asked by many...where did time go? It seems the older we get the quicker it passes. When I was a child, it seemed it would take forever for a day to come to an end....now there just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to get everything done! Maybe that's it, maybe we now have so much to accomplish in one day that it seems that time moves swifter...I don't know looking back, it just all passes by to quick. I guess that is why John said that life is as a vapour on water...enjoyed this sentimental write my friend!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
Time does go quickly, doesn't it, Barbara. I am still young and even at that, I sit here today, on June 4th, and ask where nearly half of 2007 has gone? Thank you for the reminder that we must stop and appreciate life.
A very emotive and touching write. Thank you,
Jill
