A Clump Of Clay

A kindred soul, loving every person and creature...

I'm nothing but a clump of clay,
waiting to be molded by God's hands.
The shape and gender is known only by Him,
He knew my traits...they were in His plan.

He knew them before my conception,
born of a seed provided through love.
He prepared my heart...gentle and sensitive,
a desire to seek Him like a calm dove.

A kindred soul...loving every person and creature,
aspirations to aid and offer understanding and caring.
Listen and allow His light to shine for others to see,
knowing I'll be there through all their combating.

He readied me to feel others pain and strife,
permitting me to reach out and to soothe their smarting.
He gave me a gentle heart to show concern and attention,
benevolent words to touch the nucleus of their grief.

Bestowed me with love for all mankind...every nationality,
knowing they were patterned by His hands.
Their hearts and souls feel pain, hurt, and sadness,
and a desire to be stroked, nurtured, and part of His plan.

My foundation was built by Him
as I follow the spirit He placed into this fleshy shell.
Granting me the strength to never fail His creation,
assisting me to follow His word...leading others well.

There is depth to this poem, and a wonderful clump of clay you were that God found easy to mold, I imagine. Your poem is gently sweet and inspirational.

This is so full of integrity and beauty of spirit. It is just wonderful when a creation bears the signature of its Creator so faithfully... and sings out as a testimony to the wonders and uniqueness of His handiwork so well! :)) Like the song a bird sings as an anthem of praise, you know well of the glory from/for which you have been formed. We are complete when we know we have been both planned and purposed, and walk and live according to it. You are in full voice and full bloom with this one, Barbara! Love, Kate xx

Your poem reminds me of the sign we've probably all seen:

"God don't make no junk!" Your words beautifully portray God's hand in our creation. It is up to us to share His beauty and love with others. Indeed, your clay has molded my thinking. Thank you,
Kathy

A very beautiful read. It also moves on beyond the minimal and shows how this clay is able to touch other people. I like that.

I like the forward flowing spirit in this. Yes ... HE is still molding and shaping our lives irrespective of our interference, stubbornness, and stupidity. Seems, dear Barbara, you can bridge chasms between true believers and pagans. This is a gift! Blessings ...
