Searching The Crowd

I no longer need to search for Jesus` face...

I search the crowd to find Jesus` face,
don't know what to expect...dark hair, beard, dark eyes?
I feel His presence in every area, in every place,
A lump in my throat...I want to sit down and cry.

I know He is here...His face I cannot see,
no one can give me a description to look for.
I hunt throughout the crowd...will He know me?
A sheep who needs comfort and seeks His door.

I roam around lost...a lamb gone astray,
wanting something more than life offers me.
I ask people if they've seen Jesus down the way,
starring pass my voice...acting like they don't hear or see.

Gusts clutch my shoulders like a hug in the night,
permits me to sense His presence is with me.
A light in the darkness lights up the earth real bright,
showers of rain cleanse my soul and sets me free.

I no longer search for Jesus` face,
He makes me aware He is here.
He came into my life...granting salvation and grace,
I've quit searching and looking everywhere...

His Holy Spirit lives within my soul,
making me free and whole.

"Gusts clinch my shoulders like a hug in the night..." Barbara, this line says it all. So many times, when humans are sorrowed or overburdened, they forget that the Lord is still there to give them that much-needed, long-distance hug.

A beautiful poem,
Jill

Beautiful. Even if we don't see Him, we have faith He is there, because we feel His presence every day. Thank you, Barbara, enjoyed reading this inspiration.

Nice. We seek His face not with our eyes, but with our hearts. And while we seek Him, He pursues us with far greater love.
