Mother, there's so much that goes unsaid to you,
you're a precious treasure in all that you do.
You nursed us through our crying baby years,
many sleepless nights left you with hurtful fears.

You wiped our runny noses and tended to our colds,
giving us your love until we were able to be bold.
You ironed our clothes, kept a neat house, made our beds,
making sure we got our daily treats and we were fed.

You're a precious treasure in all the things you do,
we couldn't have made it in life if it wasn't for you.
You lent us an ear whenever we were hurting and sad,
not ever showing any signs you were disgusted or mad.

Mother, there's so much that goes unsaid to you,
how did you manage to get all your chores through?
You never faltered or complained to anyone,
you did your job and it was always well done.

I'll never forget the smile on your pretty face,
the day you beat Dad in the gunny sack race.
You loved to play games and compete to win,
smiling as you kidded, "I beat him by a chin!"

You're a precious treasure in all the things you do,
I cannot image my life without "me" and "you."
