The dusk casts its shadow upon the land
robbing the light
setting the stage for blackened night
II
Moonlight faint against transitioning light
stretches eerie fingers onto a land
that allows no man
III
Twisted steel, mimicking an uncanny monster
stationary,
only its shadow moves with moon passing
IV
Silence, cold and unrelenting as death
is undisturbed by gentle breeze
yet,
faintly, a rustle interrupts, calling attention be paid,
will be ignored forever more
V
Huge sockets once capable of sight
blindly bear witness
a planet once beautiful and bright
races through the universe
devoid of life.
"Lifeless" makes me feel listening to a lecture on Planet's Safety. It
is a semaphore on the road of life. It is showing yellow light about to change to RED.
In a wise warning way, "Lifeless" delivered a prophetic message to prod our minds to dare to change that destiny in its closing lines.
I have learned and have enjoyed the reading of "Lifeless".
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
