Poetry by Liana Margiva

Don’t disturb her, mind your own business

Solitude is hers alone to keep.

It’s for those who’s hearts are sad and listless

In the place where sadness doesn’t exist.

In the world where solitude is reigning,

Birds don’t sing on branches, perched in row,

Your dejected gaze indiff’rence feigning

For their freedom that inspires awe.

Stars are hiding in the cloudy awning

In anticipation of inquest:

Why is there so much of mis’ry dawning,

In the absence of love’s dazzling fest?

All the birds are fast asleep till morning,

Squirrels fed and turned in for the night.

Only her beloved didn’t come calling,

Out of sight, but not out of mind.

Far away the music weeps,

Wisp’ring through the tears “I’m not alone”.

Many more abandoned in the limbo,

Carrying bad fortune like a stone.

Music, why you crushed my desolation,

Broke the silence of a lonely soul?

Raising our modest expectations,

Always short of lofty final goal.

Why for many centuries you mastered

To instill the sadness in the hearts,

Love-induced abandoned soul disaster

To sustain until the life departs?

Why for you the people never cared?

Could it be because you now admit

That without love of life you’re scared

And to torture willing to commit?

This late hour, stuck in isolation

That created bonds between our hearts,

Could I ask you for a small donation,

Tiny token of your tragic art?

I would like your sad and lonely sound

To infuse the darkness of the night,

To inform that off this Earth I’m bound,

No strength or willingness to fight.

May the amber leaves forever know

Of my tender love for their kind,

For their warmth that set my heart aglow

Melting ice that others left behind.

A LOOK IN A WINDOW CAN NEVER TELL ONE WHAT'S TRULY GOING ON INSIDE, ONLY A PERCEPTION OF WHAT IT 'LOOKS LIKE'. FOR WE LOOK AT THE OUTER APPEARANCE, GOD LOOKS AT THE HEART. SO, DEFINITELY, DO NOT DISTURB. EXCELLENT WORK, LIANA AND THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Liana, the reader feels the sadden words of
this poem until your last four lines show
a forgiveness of sorts. Your poetry quite
enjoyable as always!

Written from the depths of sadness. It's touching, but I felt darkness when I read it. The last four lines are beautiful! May peace be with you my dear friend. Mary Grace

Your poem seems to be recounting a sad loss of love, or even country. It certainly pulled on my heartstrings even in translation.

Jerry has a good point, Liana. Otherwise, a very moving poem full of intense imagery and extremely heart-felt. Well done and thank you for sharing. John

The last stanza sums it up so well. Excellent poetry.

Oh, this one covers everything that needs to e covered. Dark. Very dark. The first verse, in my opinion, doesn't correlate with the rest of the poem. That, of course is just my opinion. Excellent translation.

A somber, touching piece. Thanks, author & translator, for posting.
