Poetry by Liana Margiva

Poem Artwork

My love, please, look into my eyes

Veiled by the sorrow’s dark disguise

They lost the spark of former cheer

Since you abandoned me, my dear.

They keep the pain of love by you forgotten

Left for the dead, discarded and misused

Without you my life was truly rotten

My heart is bleeding, cut and badly bruised.

Could it be true that you returned from journey

Back by my side, the one I’ve ever craved,

And I can touch you every night and morning

Alone no more, no longer I’m depraved.

Alone no more on this gigantic planet,

With more people than water in the Ocean

Where lack of one means loss of all, I mean it

Without you the Sun won’t rise again.

The flowers mourn: their beauty is unable

To enter vaulted chambers of my heart

For you alone I set my lavish table

No one to come and tear us apart.

From far away returned to me, my dear,

Perhaps, your heart could hear the distant call

Of other heart that needed you to steer

Your ship to shore where you can have it all.

Could it be that my heart will know the cheer,

Believe it can be blessed by love again?

Could it be that my sorrow’s dark veneer

Fall from my eyes and take away the pain?

Are you aware what lonely heart could fancy

When flowers bloom and fragrance fills the air?

When Moon ascends to throne and stars are dancing

The loveless heart is filled with cold despair.

That’s why on nights like these the Moon is hiding

Behind the cloud curtain in the skies

Afraid to see the tears the heart is crying

When tears in the eyes have dried.

Dear Liana, Sometimes the course of love veers off into another direction. One's heart weeps and cannot rejoice! The poem is sad but touching in it's message. Some of the images are lovely. I love the phrase, "The stars are dancing!" ....M

Some are meant to be together but, due to the conditions in this life/world, they are kept apart. I know because I am living this. A most meaningful poem, Liana. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

You write poetry of love and loss that reminds me of sadness in that epic story, Dr. Zhivago.

You capture your feelings beautifully Liana. We all get 'beat-up' in one way or another in this life. There is no way to escape it. I've learned to not let my happiness depend on something I may lose. May true love and honor shower your life in a dew of heavenly roses. You never know what tomorrow may bring. Peace to you... rlc

Abandoned and returned (maybe), but through it all the poet sings sad and melancholy.
