The Old Man

The man sits there,
Service before the beings,
Eating with a smile,
You can tell by his eyes,

So content it seems,
So broken he is,
A shell of a man,
An image shattered,

Hoping that his wife will return,
Seeing the light when he speaks of her,
What it must be like to be the man,
So experienced,

Weathered with life,
Seeing the light ahead,
Bearded and all,
Just waiting to be repaired.
