It isn't what you call a man -- it's what's inside his soul. His title matters not a whit if God's not in control. He may be Preacher ..... Pastor ..... Rev ..... or just "our brother Paul," (as one of great import was known in God's Word, you'll recall.) No homage paid -- no bishop's robe -- no letters by his name; But just like Peter, James and John, a man of God the same.
May you, like Paul, be judged not by your title nor appearance, But by your daily walk with God and to His Word, adherence. Though folks neglect addressing you with reverent tone and word, No higher title could they grant than just "our brother, Ferd."
[Alternate Ending:]
Though folks neglect addressing you with reverent word and tone, if they simply call you "brother," 'tis the highest honor shown.
What a fantastic poem Connie! You have paid this "brother" the highest honor, in that He walks with God. As ConnieC says our Creator does not look at titles He looks at hearts!

L'abito non fa il monaco: an old italian proverb which means that it is not the habit or dress that makes a monk. Your advice is so true.
