The Counselor
I saw the love of Jesus,
I felt His gentle grace,
as I poured my heart out to you,
recounting pain-filled days.
You didn't have to listen
there in that quiet space,
but the depth of your compassion
reflected in your gaze
touched my wounded spirit
to heal the hidden place
as I saw the tears of Jesus
glistening on your face.
I encourage you to look up Connie Hinnen-Cook, AD Author, and read her wonderful poem, "Eyes That Weep"
This is also dedicated to one particular counselor, and to every counselor who fits the description. A Godly counselor will reflect the love and compassion of Jesus as you work together toward healing.
WHAT AN EXCELLENT SHARING, CONNIE, AND YOU ARE SO RIGHT! BUT CHRISTIAN COUNSELORS ARE SO FAR AND IN-BETWEEN THAT I'D RATHER USE JESUS WHO IS NOT SWAYED BY A MIS-SPOKEN WORD OR SOMETHING LEFT OUT...HE KNOWS ME! I keep thinking of more to say here. Just want to add that a friend can be such a caring listener that he or she becomes an excellent counselor, (though untrained by education).
Jesus has bottled up so many tears of mine when I was in pain. Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor. Do not play with the Holy Spirit once you have overcome.
