I have known some godly pastors.
I have listened at their feet
as the wisdom of the Spirit
they would faithfully repeat. 
I have thrilled to hear their message
and responded to their call.
I have known the voice of Jesus
was the one that led them all.
As they knelt before the Master,
giving heed to what He said,
they gained wisdom for imparting
to the flock that each one led,
and the hand of God was mighty,
pressing on each man His seal;
giving strength to preach His message,
and His love to make it real.

Woe to those who seek to tarnish
shining truth for hoards of gold!
They sell souls of men and women,
and the truth of God withold.
When the day of wrath approaches,
they will fall before God's throne,
as He speaks their final sentence
saying, "You, I've never known!"
But the faithful few who followed,
drinking daily from His cup,
will be blessed when Jesus beckons,
"Come, my precious friends, come up!"
You may scoff at this, my warning,
but to find the truth you need,
your destiny depends upon
which messenger you heed.

He must hold firmly to the trustworthy
message as it has been taught,
so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
