The World's Greatest Dad

Cindy: Today we all are gathered
           for a very swell occasion,
           And what can be the purpose
           of this joyful celebration?

           We all agree it's fitting
           to honor our high-school grad,
           but all her graduation gifts
           already have been had.

           And so tonight instead 
           we choose to honor our dear Dad!

All:       We're proud to be your children;
             you make us mighty glad,
             for we're the lucky ones who got
             the World's Greatest Dad!

Amy:     Although Dad's day is next week
             and our timing's slightly off,
             we hope you'll see the reason,
             and at our love not scoff!

             We'll be so separated
             when Father's Day gets here,
             so we want to have a happy time 
             today for Daddy Dear!

              the World's Greatest Dad!

Sue:  You've been our Dad a long,
                      long time,
          Yes, many, many years,
          and time must be a-wearing out
          your blue eyes and your ears.

          That's why we bought this 
                       special gift
          for the best of all the Pops!
          On Father's Day, and every day,
           we know that you are tops!

Billy:    Sometimes you may be grumpy,
             but we know your back is aching;
             and we know you had a hard day
             if a crabby sound you're making!

             For a Dad as nice as you,
             we like to give up our seats;
             We like to watch with you, Dad,
                          the Bionic Man "repeats."

 All:       We're proud to be your children;

Carol:        We like to make your coffee
                      and carry grass and stones;
                      We know you're getting older,
                      Dad, and you must rest your bones!

                       You do so many things for us,
                       we'll never know them all,
                       but we do know you're a father
                       who makes a kid stand tall!

For the life of me, I can't recall what his gift was that Father's Day, but I know we had fun presenting it!
