You may not have a lot to spend
or a bankroll tucked away;
But this you have -  your Bible  -
to help you through the day.

Start in the early morning
To read God's holy word,
As quietly, you break your fast,
Your armor on, you gird.

You'll be surprised at how this habit
enables the light to show,
As God's own words run through your mind
To guide you as you go.

Take a look inside the book
When troubles show their face,
When, as you work, you swiftly find
It's hard to run the race.

Then once again, as darkness falls,
Pause and take some time
To just go back and read a bit
To keep your thoughts in line.

Reading your Bible is not a chore;
But a gift right from the start ~
You'll never regret the blessings you get
As it settles deep in your heart!
