Dear Juliet,
I am an archaeologist who discovered Authors' Den very recently and am now addicted to the website. I enjoyed reading "Beauty" and seeing the Minoan "Snake Goddess".
True--culture, fashion and time change what is considered beauty. There was a Twilight Zone segement that dealt with that topic and the ugly one was a woman that would be considered a knock out by our culture.
