(This poem explores our leanings- on what and why for...)
The rock spring found some other course.
Some other deathless crag.
I have no shepherd's song
or waxed fertility -
just harsh angles of stone
on stone
in light.
The desert wind circles
on legs of dust. . .
and I realize that angels
have nothing to lean on.
