When I was young, I was fire
Burning, dancing, moving I was the verb
Taking action, being action
With time, my steps grew
Less certain, less bold
I questioned each move
Like a master chess player
While the world kept moving
I reacted and reacted
Soon time stretched thinner
No hours left for act
Becoming like a warrior
That could act only defensively
Each instinct now second guessed
Trapped in my hesitation
