Dragonfly

I’m her dragonfly

I eat mosquitoes

I empty the skies.

She’s my seven in the hole

My midnight dancer on a pole

Who’s captured my soul.

I go running

Can’t stop shooting

When the crowd is looting.

I’m not your man

So you’re safe

If you run as fast as you can

I’m not your baby

Your muse maybe

If you can save me

For a rainy day

We’ll get soaked

We’re just tired ol’ folks.

Looking to recapture

Old dreams for sure

If our hearts can endure

If love is directed

Long past the barb wire detected

As log razor wire hasn’t infected.

I eat mosquitoes
