Hoping...

Please, Santa

Santa, rewrite after rewrite

I’ve tried to tell you

How the best intentions

Don’t always get you through

You can only serve one Master,

And there is a higher power than you.

I love the Christmas glitter,

The shiny and the new.

And the baby boy who was born

Whose mother would watch him die in public view.

And Santa, I have no excuses

Because the Man upstairs already knew

How all my good intentions and faith

In Him above over all his minions

Is what in the end gave me a new life

And clearly saw me all the way through.

So, bring on the festivities

I really wish you would

Keep me on your list

Because I did the best I could.

Thank-you.

Love, Liz

Great juxtaposition of Christmas Heros, Liz, and I love the way you have cleverly brought in the nub of Christian truth within all the glitz and ho, ho, ho! And you made me consider... yes, don't think it's Santa we is all gonna be answerin to at the end of the day! Neat work and original idea. Got Easter in there, too. Through the gift of the Man on the Cross we are guaranteed a whole lot more than a cuddly toy and a sleigh ride! Christmas and Easter are meaningless, one without the other. Thank you for this, Kate xx

Doing one's best is what He wants. You spoke a truth that so many feel to see during this season.

God bless you. Kathy

Jesus: the REAL reason for the Season, NOT this commercialism stuff! Sad we have forgotten Him in the rush of the season! Then people wonder why we're so unhappy!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
