If the meaning of knowledge
was measured by truth, then
speak truth from the heart
it will flow from within,
acquire knowledge is where to begin
If the meaning of excitement
was measured by fear, then
fear becomes excitement
when choosing to breathe,
a breath at a time handled with ease
If the meaning of happiness
was measured by wealth, then
wealth is simply a treasure
to be taken in stride,
happiness a feeling residing inside
If the meaning of kindness
was measured by a smile, then
a smile is a gesture
perhaps portrayed as a mask,
kindness is given, but never a task
If the meaning of sorrow
was measured by loss, then
a loss can be viewed
as new sense of light,
sorrowful tears embracing it tight
If the meaning of failure
is measured by hope, then
hope inspires all who dream
gather strength to reach the top,
failure is not an incentive to stop
So what about life
And the meaning it holds, then
from all of these measures
choose to adopt only one,
changing the future now has begun.
