Don't Wave Back!"

"...I feel nothing
not anything,
Not a damn thing, under my feet...

The wide open field
of a soon to be...
harvested wheat
Sways before me
as far as an eye can see,
maybe even farther...

I take a deep breath
and gulp...
Then a little more,
now I’m sure,
there will be enough
air in my store

I’m off and running
in my fastest’est sprint;
My legs never knew?,
this faster, so swift...
Now the shafts becoming,
a burnt orange blur

I feel nothing
not anything,
Not a damn thing, under my feet...
suspended, with my arms like flapping,
saying,
Wow, this is so unbelievably, sweet...!

The wind is against me now,
airing, beneath my limbs
Thinking to myself,
"Wow... I can breathe!"
floating, above meadows and trees,
in wing

Turning in a left,
then right, directional  flight
now, just enough...
Feeling this,
seemingly...
cleansing my slight

Above the world, I soar in awe
like a bird in the sky,
I want to call...
Shout to anyone,
"Fly here with me, into the clouds!"
Here me back, when I sing out loud...

Looking down and around
...now above the ground
Looking far and wide
spirting in His sky
I’m so light right now,
whispering..."God, I love to fly!"

"Is there anyone up here?"
And to my surprise...
There pulling up next to me
was a pilot...smiling
He just waved at me
with a great big grin

So I summoned back,
lifting my flap
and then I fell
flat on my head
right out of my bed!
Dag-nabbed,  I hate getting up!"

Hi Kimmy, so you fly in your dreams too! Yes, it's an amazing feeling...the breeze in your face, zooming upwards at great speed...on I've done a few of those solo flights too. Like you, I didn't like when they ended. :)

God Bless

Oh, dear Kimmy, I just love this! Reminds me of a dream I used to have about running over great expanses of water, and getting lighter and lighter, until my feet touched only the air... It was an amazing feeling... which would also usually end up with a jolt - either the alarm clock blaring, or a glass of water knocked from the bedside table all over the sheets... LOL! This is brilliant poetry, with a marvelous use of imagery and humour. What a delightful combination!
Love,
Alexandra*
