On a baring tree All shorn of love . . . Blackthorn, pricked Bourn a Crow! Rue to the morn! O’ forsaken bird! He who lorn's so low . . . Love, gains to gird! Raven kin! All ye caws to sing! Black feathered, gloss. . . . Refulgence, wings! Spare thy sloe! All ye umble's, damson! It’s in haws, love sings! Crow,"the harslet", ransomed! Copyright 2009 Kimmy Van Kooten

this piece is delightful to read Kimmy, there are so many folklores and tribal traditions about the crow...it is indeed an interesting character.

From the old trees of 1500 hundred century when old wives could tell you that someone was soon to crock because the crow said so.
Maligned bird that entertains itself teasing everybody else, if it stopped smoking it would have had a lovely canary's voice! LOL
