Imagine 20 below zero, the wood lot stark and bare in the glistening sun. A trail of small tracks a country mile to withered corns stalks in deep snow from the trees. An ear abandoned halfway there, and twenty fire fox squirrels, fat with fur in February, playing love in the branches against the blue sky.
