Can't be goofy all the time...

I'm funny, carefree, smiling all the time, but sometimes...

I can't be goofy all the time
In fact, I sometimes weep
And when I hit the bottom rung
The sea is cold and deep
And no life jacket can save me
If I am dead asleep
To what is ailing me so much
That I can not feel fine
I can't be goofy all the time
But I certainly won't stop tryin'
'Cause life is short
And laughter should
Take up more of my days,
Than snif-fl-ling
And carrying on,
In menopausal display

-the joys and woes of being female

Lynn,
How true! I'm post menopausal and still trying to figure out where the "boost of energy" is much less where my mind went. Can you write one about hot flashes for all of us with internal saunas? We could use a laugh about that little sweaty detail!

I try not to take myself too seriously even when I'm alone with just my thoughts. It keps me going, the laughter.
