Bus rides for veterans, brain damaged and sent home from war, soon to the prison house sentenced for money taken but never will spend. Asleep at night, wrestling with demons...trying to stay awake to keep from dreaming.
Think about fifteen-life: It's not a lot of time to serve, and not get proper health care. They are back on the streets and now we have diseased babies running the neighborhoods raising hell, cooking drugs, killing folks and on helpless tax paying citizens commiting folony crimes.
America, help our veterans. Help when they return home. They want to remember the way it was. They want to complete the dream. The dream was not to ride a prison bus, because they can not find a job, or to get in trouble with sickness and get no mental or physical health treatment. A brain is a waste when it's only doing time.

I must say, one thing I do love about England, is free health care, and the housing for the likes of whom you speak.
One thing that stopped me from living over there, was the healthcare.less you had the money, even though boeing military had me covered, and also the gun crime, snakes, lyme diease, spiders, and the massive gap between "what i called the east and the west divide" reason i say that, is that in texas, dakota, alabama, tennesee, NY, i noticed that those on the east were poor, not just poor but poverty poor, in a way that is illegal, the west seemed to have the best. I'm prolly wrong, but that was just what I felt as an outsider observing.
It was if there are two Americas, the one we hear about over here, like a coca cola Disney advert, and an America that is dark and kept from us, the divide between the have and have not's seemed to be inhumane. Never has anyone in England been refused hospital treatment due to their bank balance, insurance, race colour or creed..
LOL, as I'm on a roll, the barbaric death penalty. I thought the injection was like putting a dog down, sedative and falling asleep, and not 15 mins + of agony. Eye for an eye. Here we believe if it's an eye for an eye then everyone will be blinded....
Such a sad write, but true. We once lived next door to a Vietnam vet, there were times that he had really hard nights, couldn't sleep, flash backs, and bouts of depression. I agree with George, I really don't think that any vet comes home the way they went. My daughter's best friend's husband served in Iraq, he was a survivor of an ambush...actually left on the side of the road for dead with a gun shot in each leg and each arm. However, he survived...but he's not the same...very sad, and a young man in his twenties suffers much mental stress, exhaustion, and severe flash backs....sad write, thought provoking indeed!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
No vet comes home the way he left. They need our help and write to the President to increase funds for the VA and fix the hospitals that are falling apart and not giving proper treatment for mental problems caused by the war.
